Welcome to the Wilderness.
We outfit individuals,
families and groups for
canoe, kayak and tube trips
on the upper James River.

Our headquarters at
Rivervale Farm is about 5
miles east of Virginia's
Natural Bridge  at the
western entrance to the
James River Face
Wilderness Area. Rivervale
Farm dates from around
1750 and offers one half
mile of delightful shoreline
on a gentle stretch of river.

Enjoy the Crystal Clear
James River with excellent
Fishing and perfect
Camping Conditions.

The town of Glasgow has received grant money to put a James River access point at the confluence of the James and Maury Rivers.
In early 2013 this work should be complete.
In the past the take-out at Glasgow was not marked. It was very easy for customers to miss the stopping point.
This new take-out will allow us to show this beautiful stretch of River to more people by
Canoe, Kayak and Tube.
